Bespoke Terrazzo

At Variostone, we manufacture two standard ranges of Terrazzo with our Terrazzo Tiles and Conglomerate Terrazzo, however we also offer our clients the unique possibility of creating Bespoke Terrazzo.

With our Bespoke Terrazzo service, we are able to create truly unique designs for your projects. The background colour, the colour and size of the chips is controlled, and with some of our techniques, precise patterns can even be incorporated.

Our experienced technicians will work with you on your project and advise on the best production method available to create your desired finish.

Bespoke Terrazzo Tiles

We can produce Bespoke Terrazzo tiles using two techniques, either in blocks, which is ideal for larger quantities, or individually which is suitable for smaller as well as larger quantities. The individual technique allows for great customisation as we are able to not only control the background colour and chips, but also draw specific patterns.

Bespoke Precast Terrazzo

Terrazzo unlike natural stone can be moulded as it’s a liquid mixture. We can therefore create complex shapes or elements that aren’t possible with our terrazzo blocks.

We create our Precast Terrazzo using specifically made Polystyrene, fibreglass or steel moulds for complex shapes or simply with wood for flat surfaces. Once cured the terrazzo is grinded and polished to reveal the aggregate just like standard terrazzo.

Bespoke In Situ Terrazzo

As Terrazzo is a liquid mixture it can also be poured on site to create seamless floors. This technique is called In Situ Terrazzo and is bespoke by nature. It’s an ancient technique that few still master as it requires incredible precision in order to guarantee the best result.

Bespoke Terrazzo Process

The first step when looking at bespoke terrazzo is to decide on a background colour. We usually work from a RAL reference and our technicians will match it by mixing different pigments. The next step is to choose marble chips to go into the terrazzo mix. Our technicians will advise you on the types of marble to use and their proportions to achieve a design. You can see below a selection of marble chips that we use to create bespoke designs, as well as a few semi precious and precious aggregates.
